Produktbeschreibung

The much-anticipated and much-discussed Book of Erotic Fantasy has been released by Valar Project, Inc. It's a sourcebook that puts forth rules for the issues of sex, love, seduction, marriage, and pregnancy that frequently get short shrift or go unexplored in a roleplaying game.

The first chapter discusses handling sex in a mature way, and provides an overview of various facets of sex such as humor, sexual orientation, fetishes, prostitution, pornography, commitment and infidelity, chastity, pregnancy and childbirth, and taboos. This is a fairly basic section, but more thought-provoking than you might expect at least as it pertains to a roleplaying game.

There's a look at how the alignments relate to sex, as well as how each player character race typically views it. Other fantasy races are also mentioned, including centaurs, doppelgangers, dryads, giants, goblinoids, lizardfolk, merfolk, nymphs, and sprites. There are even considerations on other creature types: aberrations, constructs, dragons, elementals, outsiders, and more.

The new (and optional) rules for sex, skills, feats, etc. are found in the second chapter. The Appearance ability score is brought into play, which is used for certain skill checks. Some of the new uses for existing skills include Appraising a potential partner, Bluffing to connect with someone, Knowledge about various topics, Perform (sexual techniques), several Professions (such as Courtesan, Masseuse, Midwife, or Tattoo Artist), and Sense Motive. New feats include such entries as Animal Magnetism, Chaste Life, Disarming Looks, Limber, Seductive, Sexual Training, Sterile, and more. Issues such as sexually transmitted diseases and their physical and social consequences are covered, along with birth control, conception, and pregnancy.

New core classes and prestige classes are introduced next. The core classes are the Imagist, a spontaneous spellcaster devoted to beautifying the world; the Kundala, a seeker of enlightenment through experience; and the Tantrist, a spellcaster who powers spells with sexual energy. Prestige classes include the Disciple of Aaluran, who focuses on love and sex; the Divine Celibate, who maintains purity of body and spirit; the Fey Enticer; the Harem Protector; the Pierced Mystic; the Rake; the Sacred Prostitute; and others.

Spells and magic play a part here too; new domains include Body, Denial, Joining, Perversion, Pleasure, and Voyeur. Over eighty new spells are introduced here, with such titles as Ale Goggles, Analyze Ancestry, Analyze Fertility, Depilatory, Find a Soulmate, Grope, Impotency, Mirror Talk, Pheromones, Unseen Lover, and more. Further, new kinks with old spells are presented.

The section on equipment features clothing, tools, toys, and other devices designed in some way or another around sex. Examples include: chastity belt, makeup kit, piercing kit, oils, various aphrodisiacs (with game stats), and birth control devices. Services are also mentioned, and then we find some magical items. Optional rules for additional spaces for magic items on the body include things like hair combs, forehead jewels, bustiers, codpieces, shawls, and anklets.

Gods and monsters are the focus of the next chapter, which introduces new deities and creatures you can use in your game. Six new deities allow the use of the new domains introduced earlier, and several new creatures (and creature templates) can create interesting encounters for the PCs. The last chapter presents one hundred basic adventure ideas to get things started, and a few organizations and NPCs provide some basic groundwork for the GM. An appendix displays a list of the Appearance ability scores for various creatures (from other sources).

The Book of Erotic Fantasy is a 192-page hardcover, in full color throughout.
