Produktbeschreibung

The Gygaxian Fantasy Worlds Collector's Pack sports a beautiful portrait of Gary Gygax, painted by Rick Sardinha and contains the first six volumes of this reknowned series.

The Canting Crew, The World Builder, Living Fantasy, The Extraordinary Book of Names, Insidiae and Nation Builder all packaged in an open ended charcoal black, slip sleeve. With a retail value of $182.70 the GFW Collector's Pack is a steal.

All six volumes are professionally bound, hardback books and contain a wealth of information for writers, game designers, game enthusiasts and students. Each book carefully details aspects of creating or understanding what comprise he worlds of fantasy the people our imagination.

Vol. I: The Canting Crew Gygax explores the underworld of city life. Thieves, their guilds, organization, a complete dictionary of the language they speak, the signs they use, everything a player or DM may want or need to know about the underclass is here. Complete with maps, illustrations for hand signals, as well as prestige classes, new weapons and more this book is a must have.

Vol. II: The World Builder covers outdoor settings, indoor living settings, merchandise with a completely illustrated armor and weapons section and everyday facts from the government structure to the tensile strength of rope.

Vol. III: Living Fantasy uses mainly the English socio-economic class system, based on feudalistic concepts of the high medieval to Renaissance periods and a sure knowledge of both, the reader is treated to a potpourri of details regarding all manner of things. After defining the social structure, so as to place into perspective characters "met" in the fantasy world, this book details how such imaginary persons are garbed, what weapons they might have, how they travel, where they live, what they eat, and so forth. Indeed, in its own way, this is a rather monumental treatise, information-wise, compacted into a small size.

Vol. IV: The Extraordinary Book of Names 100,000 names. The book include's people names from all over the world, epithets, places such as inns and taverns, spoof names and more. It includes how to create names, pronunciation guides, translations and how to name the coat of arms of a knight or land. It includes names for fantastic races, topographical features and titles for nobility.

Vol. V: Insidaie covers five vitally important aspects of game adventure design: back story, antagonists, motive, locale and plot. Each chapter builds upon the details of the last, teaching the hallmarks of good writing. Working through the guide will aid writers in creating adventures for any role playing game or fiction project; provide an array of ideas, character types, backgrounds, places of encounter and danger, and plot devices needed to propel characters deeper into the story.

Vol. VI: Nation Builder has its primary focus on the political, social and economic entities that comprise states in both modern realistic and fantastic settings. Each subject is supported with an ongoing series of detailed examples and miniature case studies, so that Nation Builder can serve as both a guide to creating campaign settings and a ready-made sourcebook and sample milieu for writers, designers and the like
