Coyote Trail

It's an age of cowboys, rustlers, gamblers, and lawmen. The town's assembling a posse to hunt down your gang like the dogs you are. Coyote Trail includes rules to create a variety of Wild West personalities, simple rules for fights and chases, ready-to-play adventures, story ideas, reference sheets, and numerous character, horse, and wagon templates.

Coyote Trail is a roleplaying game designed to be both easy to learn and fast-paced. The versatile genreDiversion i 2d6 rules make it perfect for one-shot games, extended play, or as a framework for your own ideas. Plus you can combine it with our Active Exploits Diceless System for diceless Wild West adventure.

In short, Coyote Trail is fast, ready-to-use, and adaptable. You don't have to learn a complicated system, refer to scores of tables, or spend all day creating characters. The basic rules require very little study, and the advanced rules are not much more difficult to pick up. You can either create custom characters for the game or dive right in with any of the included templates. The game is designed to be light; it has a small footprint and extremely low price tag—it's not overloaded with tons of rules or an excess of information you just won't need. It's meant to get you running quickly so you can have a good time.

The setting is very open, taking place anywhere you choose in the American West circa 1870. Travel the dusty trails from boomtowns to native villages. Rustle cattle, rob banks, and terrorize towns. Of course, if law and justice is your thing, take on the role of sheriffs to protect towns, and drive off bandits and Indians. Then again, you could just gamble all your money away. The included adventures immerse you into the heart of the West so even if you don't want to the run them, you've still got a lot of inspiration to help flavor your setting or inspire ideas. The rules are also flexible enough to handle your own vision of the West or that of your favorite Western movie, television program, or novel.

Hardnova ][

Space Opera in a tidy and light package.

Take to the stars and smuggle exotic goods across the galaxy, solve mysteries aboard space liners, or explore the frontier. HardNova ][ includes alien races, starships, exotic abilities, ready-to-play scenarios, reference sheets, and numerous character, robot, and starship templates.

HardNova ][ is a roleplaying game designed to be both easy to learn and fast-paced. The versatile genreDiversion i 2d6 rules make it perfect for one-shot games, extended play, or as a framework for your own ideas. The included setting can be easily discarded and replaced by that of your favorite movie, television program, comic, or novel.

In short, HardNova ][ is fast, ready-to-use, and adaptable. You don't have to learn a complicated system, refer to scores of tables, or spend all day creating characters. The basic rules require very little study, and the advanced rules are not much more difficult to pick up. You can either create custom characters for the game or dive right in with any of the included templates. And if you want to use the rules, but do away with the setting or scenarios in lieu of your own background and storylines, the rules are flexible enough to handle it.

Iron Gauntlets

Harken back to the days of fantasy adventure.
It is an age when heroes ventured where the mass of humankind dared not tread - into a fantastic world of arcane wizards, bold warriors, powerful kings, and fell beasts. The voyages were perilous, but the rewards were great. Iron Gauntlets will thrust your heroes into epic swords and sorcery quests. Will they find glory or treachery, triumph, or an early death?

No classes or experience levels, Iron Gauntlets keeps it simple with consistent and flexible rules. The game is designed for people to tinker with it--because gamers almost always do. Add your own races and skills, or even create new magical powers. Plus you can get the main rules/book in your desired format.

* Want to keep it cheap? Get the Core PDF for just the rules.
* Want a sample setting as well? Get the Expanded PDF for the rules, Amherth setting, and OGL conversion notes.
* Want a regular printed copy? Order the softcover, which includes the same content as the Expanded PDF.
* Plus, a number of adventures and other add-ons are available with more on the way.

* Traditional Fantasy
Elves, dwarves, orcs, dragons, skeleton warriors, swords, treasures, magic... They're all here, just like you remember. 8 player races, 12 player backgrounds, 17 player vocations...

* Versatile System
Powered by the Impresa Modular Roleplaying System, Iron Gauntlets is both easy to learn and easy to play. The rules are simple, yet robust, and keep the action moving:

Roll a number of 10-sided dice based on ability. Each die less than or equal to skill level is a step. The task's difficulty determines how many steps you need to succeed. Apart from some modifiers and variable outcomes (for magic), that's it.

The game is story-centric, so characters perform tasks based on what they want to do, not what the rules tell them to do--dice can be bypassed in many situations and odds of success increased with experience, concentration, and assistance by others.

Diceless play is also possible when used in conjunction with Active Exploits Diceless Roleplaying. Or, use the genreDiversion i rules (genreDiversion i Manual, HardNova ][, Active Exploits Diceless Softcover) for 2d6 play. Plus you can also adapt your old OGL characters to Iron Gauntlets using the free conversion notes (included with Expanded PDF and Softcover). Click here to see more about the basics of the system.

* Character Development
Create a wide range of characters, from shaman and barbarian warriors to paladins and knights. If you can imagine it, you can create it. Unlike most other games, experience can have a direct influence on a character's actions: expend experience at will to increase the odds of a task or save it to raise a skill level between game sessions.

* Customizable
Create your own special abilities, races, creatures, and even combat and magic styles. Iron Gauntlets provides a foundation with which you can play, but it also gives you the freedom and guidance to go beyond.

* Versatile Magic
Four forms of magic (crafting, divinity, essence, and totem) give you the diversity you need so each character wields a different style of magic. Plus, the streamlined magic system provides enough flexibility to create your own effects and styles. What you won't find are tons and tons of spells wasting space and forcing you to read information you probably won't use.

Do you want even more magic? Steampunk Musha adds two new forms, as does Unorthodox Barbarians/Druids--that makes a total of 8 types of magic you can use.
