"The first group", the assault party, was reinforced with engineers. They have gotten different weapons in accordance with their orders to achieve their objective at any circumstance without regarding what is happening to the right, left or rear. The rifles, which are problematical in street and house fighting, have been left behind. They are replaced by machine pistols and in addition hand
grenades of all sorts and satchel charges up to three kilos and handed out liberally.

Schmidt and his Assault Troop represent such troops prepared for the close in fighting in the streets of Stalingrad or to take strong points in the enemy's defences.
Once you have an Assault Troop in your force it can be modified for different tasks, your Heavy Squads can be made up of the following teams:
Pioneer SMG teams
Pioneer MG team
Light Mortar teams
HMG teams
2cm FlaK38 guns
3.7cm PaK36 guns
7.5cm leIG18 guns
But, you cannot field more than two of the same team in your Heavy Squads.
This makes the Assault Troop a very flexible unit, allowing you to modify the troop before the game as the situation dictates.
Pack Contains -
Inside you get 1 Small and 4 medium bases, 1 Schmidt, 8 SMG gunners, 8 Riflemen with Grenades, 2 Riflemen, 1 Pin Marker. The miniatures make up Schmidt's Command Pioneer SMG team and 4 Pioneer SMG teams.
The teams for your Heavy Squads are made up from the appropriate packs found in the German range. |
