What is Skybound?
Skybound is the home of Robert Kirkman’s creator-owned work including his Eisner Award-winning comic book series, The Walking Dead, long-running Invincible, all-ages Super Dinosaur,Thief of Thieves and Clone as well as Witch Doctor, Guarding the Globe and The Astounding Wolf-Man. Since its inception, Skybound has created television shows, merchandise and a wide spectrum of platforms, games and entertainment events (The Walking Dead Escape). Skybound’s successes include the comic behind the hit Emmy®-winning television show, AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Who We Are
Robert Kirkman, Partner
Twitter: RobertKirkman

Robert Kirkman is the creator of many popular comic books, including the Eisner Award- winning The Walking Dead, long-running Invincible, all-ages Super Dinosaur, and the atmospheric exorcism comic, Outcast, which was released in June 2014 and recently received a series pickup for CINEMAX with Fox International. Kirkman will serve as creator, writer and executive producer of the series. The Kentucky native has risen to fame as one of the most successful names in comics and entertainment. In 2008, Kirkman became a partner at Image Comics.

Kirkman continued to expand his presence in the entertainment industry, becoming a creator, executive producer and writer on The Walking Dead television show. Kirkman is also the executive producer and co-creator of AMC’s upcoming companion series Fear The Walking Dead for which he co-wrote the pilot alongside Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy, Marco
Polo). Under the Skybound umbrella Kirkman produced AIR, his first feature film as a producer.

In 2010, Robert saw an opportunity to create a transmedia entertainment company that would nurture creators and give them the resources to create content while retaining creative control of their properties. Partnering with longtime collaborator, and fellow executive producer of The Walking Dead David Alpert, Skybound Entertainment was born.

David Alpert, Partner

David Alpert is president of Skybound Entertainment, the multiplatform entertainment company founded alongside longtime collaborator and creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman. As president David oversees operations and development of cross-platform properties at Skybound including the company’s partnership with Samsung to develop virtual reality content for Milk VR.
David Alpert is also a prolific television and film producer. Some of David’s credits include in television: “The Walking Dead” and its companion series, “Fear The Walking Dead,” the Robert Kirkman–created “Outcast”, and features including “AIR,” starring Norman Reedus and Djimon Hounsou, the Jessie Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart film “American Ultra,” and the George Lopez film “Spare Parts.”
David is an honors graduate of Harvard University and New York University Law School.

Sean Mackiewicz, Editorial Director
Twitter: SeanMackiewicz

Sean’s been Skybound’s Editorial Director for over three years, where he manages their entire comic line, develops new titles, and consults on story for interactive, feature and television projects. It’s pretty great.

Shawn Kirkham, Director of Business Development
Twitter: BigClutch

Shawn comes to us from the music industry and brings with him a life long passion for comics. He also loves Lego. And cupcakes. And whiskey. All at the same time if possible.

Brian Huntington, Online Editorial Director
Twitter: NotZombies

Brian has a background in social media, online publishing, writing, pop culture, and zombies. Skybound decided it would be a good idea to let him do all these things at the same time. Granted, we had to child-proof the office.

June Alian, Publicity Director

June is a tenured entertainment PR professional having worked on campaigns spanning television, film, interactive, special events, and more. When June isn’t making sure the world knows about all things Skybound Entertainment she enjoys travel, food, traveling for food, music, wine, and kittens.

Red Flags

Red Flags is "The Game of Terrible Dates"

In Red Flags, your goal is to use "Perk" cards to create the best date for "The Single" (the judge for this round). However, there is a catch. Players may also play "Red Flags" (bad traits) in an attempt to sabotage another player's hot date.

Each player has an opportunity to argue why their date is the best one for "The Single," who chooses which awful date wins...

Superfight

IMPORTANT: Superfight went through a major reprint in late 2014. The rules and about 30% of the cards were refined to improve the game after it sold out of the first five prints in preorders alone. The game is now produced by the folks who created The Walking Dead, and is exploding in popularity. The CAH/Apples mechanic has been replaced by a table vote and one-one one battles, but the battle royale and villain rulesets keep the old single-judge mechanic if the table prefers that.

Superfight is party game of super powers and super problems.

The game is all about arguing with your friends about ridiculous fights.

The core deck contains 500 cards. 170 characters (white cards), and 330 powers and weaknesses (black cards). Players use a hand of three white cards and three black cards, and choose one of each to beat the player next to them. Then they get a random black card before fighting. Players then argue their case for why they should win, and the table votes.
