Game Salute
(auf das Logo klicken, um zur Firmen-Website zu gelangen)

Game Salute began in 2008 as an idea of Dan Yarrington, inspired by the many awesome people he works with in the tabletop games industry each day. It came out of an idea of dedicating effort to creating and providing tools and services to make the games industry better. During 2008, 2009, and 2010, Game Salute launched a variety of support programs including Game Salute News, product evaluation and information, and general consulting and advice for all members of the industry.

By 2011, the positive response to Game Salute had grown to the point where Game Salute, LLC was officially formed. At that point, we started working full-time to support and promote great independent game publishers through our Featured Fulfillment program. In 2011, we grew from one employee to three! We expanded our news coverage, launched the beta version of GameStoreLocator.com, launched the beta of Preview Nights, and the beta version of our Springboard support program for crowdfunding campaigns.

In 2012, Game Salute expanded to support even more publishers and also launched our Powered by Game Salute publishing division. We greatly expanded the reach of Featured Fulfillment, by growing the number of stores and distribution partners we work with up to over 500. We expanded our warehouse twice during the year, including a move to a new facility. We refined the Springboard program and ran 10 successful campaigns. We attended 10 shows including trade shows and consumer conventions. We launched our Game Ambassador volunteer program. We gave our industry-wide news and editorial coverage a new face and name with the launch of GameBugle.com. We received hundreds of submissions for titles to be published through Powered by Game Salute. In the last six months of the year, we moved 9 titles through pre-production to production (for release in 2013). And all throughout the year, we steadily expanded our staff to meet the increased activity, from 3 to 18.

What’s in the future for Game Salute? We’re going to continue to create and support great tabletop games and work tirelessly to make the industry better. You’re invited to join us!

Alien Frontiers

Do you have what it takes to be a deep space colonist? An alien frontier awaits the brave and daring! This new planet will be harsh, but if you have the skills to manage your resources, build a fleet, research alien life, and settle colonies, the world can be yours.

Roll and place your dice to gain advantages over your opponent and block them out of useful areas of the board. Use Alien Tech cards to manipulate your dice rolls and territory bonuses to break the rules. Steal resources, overtake territories, and do whatever it takes to get your colonies on the map first! Don't dream it'll be easy, though, because the other players will be trying to do the same thing.

King's Forge

The Chamberlain is searching the realm for a new "Craftmaster to the King" and sets a contest for all of the smiths and crafters in the land. The first one to forge four items from a list of the King's favorite weapons and trinkets will be honored as First Among Crafters and Smiths. But watch out, because the other crafters and smiths will try to outdo you at every opportunity. Are you ready to forge your destiny?

In King's Forge, players are craftsmen and craftswomen seeking to become the favorite of the King. A variety of dice represent the raw materials (metal, wood, gems, and enchantment) and those same dice can be used to gather new dice and purchase roll-modifiers, or saved and rolled in an attempt to meet the requirements to craft the items on the King's list. An early lead is not a sure path to victory and other players will out-maneuver and out-build you whenever possible. Careful dice management, advance planning, fierce competition, and nail-biting luck will carry you to winner's circle.

Shadowrift

Haven Town is facing total annihilation at the hands (and teeth) of a horde of monsters from beyond the Shadowrift.

You the heroes must band together to drive them back. To do this, you will need powerful spells, skills, attacks and loot. When the game begins, you are a basic hero; you can explore and fight. Lucky for you, this is a deckbuilding game! You can buy new cards to add to your deck - cards which will define you as an adventurer and complement the strengths of your fellow heroes.

Unlike other deckbuilders, there is constant interaction with your fellow players, as you figure out who will gain which benefit from the limited supply of townsfolk, offer your coin to help construct walls, and seek healing from anyone who's learned such magic.

Shadowrift also features monsters that do not merely sit in play waiting to be slain - If you leave them alone they will rip Haven Town asunder. They'll kill people, break walls, and kick you heroes in the face. Combat with them is intuitive (though frequently painful).

For defeating a monster, heroes gain Heroism, a simple, consistent boost to their power that makes them better at anything they undertake. Since the monsters won't stop coming until the last Shadowrift is sealed or the town has been built into a mighty fortress, you'll need every boost you can take.
