The box comes with 5 Sherman IIIs, Decals, army specific stowage, mounted and dis-mounted crew.
The Sherman III is an extremely effective tank. Its armour is enough to keep most anti-tank weapons (Front 6, Side 4, Top 1), though it is still vulnerable to the heavier weapons. It doesn't suffer from the Ronson effect like other Shermans because of its less volatile diesel fuel.
It is also armed with the excellent US 75mm gun, giving it a range of 32"/80cm, ROF 2, AT 10, FP 3+ and the ability to fire smoke, making escape from beasts such as the Tiger easy.
It has good mobility, moving as a fully-tracked vehicle with no special movement rules.
The Sherman III can be found in both Heavy Armoured Platoons from Desert Rats and in Tank Platoons from For King & Country.
The box of five allows you to get an Armoured Squadron started with two tanks for the HQ and three for the first platoon. With addition of a single tank blister (BR119) you can also use the box to field two Tank Platoons to support your British Infantry Company. |
