Produktbeschreibung

Das "MUß" für alle Scottland Fans -

Scottish Quest is a brand-new board game based on many different aspects of Scotland. As you race from one question to the next, from the Highlands to the Lowlands of Scotland, discover a wealth of fascinating facts about a land steeped in over a thousands years of unique history. Be the first to reach the capital Edinburgh and be crowned the winner!

The largest, longest and oldest in Scotland: all on new Board Game!

Who were Les, Eric and Woody? Which rock star became a salmon farmer on the Isle of Skye? How many universities are there in Scotland? Who lives at 10 Glebe Street?

The answers to these, and hundreds of other questions, are revealed in the new board game "Scottish QuestTM" which was launched last month (December 2004) by the 1745 Trading Company Limited, a Scottish based sales and marketing company. The company's objective is to promote Scotland's special heritage on a global basis, with a particular focus on strengthening Scottish North American relationships, such as with clan and other Scottish heritage organisations.

1745's first commercial product is Scottish QuestTM , a new limited edition board game, which will educate, enlighten and entertain players about the many different aspects of Scottish history, culture, nature and the modern environment in a stimulating and inter-active way.

"Feedback from our market research showed that people wanted to learn a lot more about the country of their heritage, but in a fun and interesting way", says 1745's co-founder and project manager, Lucy-Rose Walker of Edinburgh.

The board game's strategy involves a tour of Scotland, answering a wide range of multiple choice Scottish general knowledge questions along the way. There are four broad topics: History, Nature, Modern and Culture. Players collect the letters "QUEST" from various destinations and then travel to the capital city Edinburgh, answering a final question to claim the crown and win the game.

Lucy-Rose Walker, who is a founder of the 1745 Trading Company Limited, stresses that the project also has educational aspects: "The game is filled with some absolutely fascinating facts and figures about the history as well as the changing and modern times of Scotland. Scottish QuestTM will be very appealing to schools as well as the tourism industry and for entertaining visitors and residents alike."

The game is for up to six players and is an ideal gift or souvenir for Scots and tourists alike. Containing the board, question cards and playing pieces.

The game has 2,400 questions based on Scotland written by two Scottish historians/journalists (John Skinner and Tom Bruce-Gardyne) and also contains a useful explanatory booklet which provides further facts about certain questions - such as the answer to: "Which playing card is the known as the curse of Scotland, and why?"
