Chaturanga Concepts
Chaturanga Concepts recently announced the June 2001 release of its first product, Raid on the Mall, a supplement for Jolly Roger Games' zombie boardgame Maul of America.
"We're very excited about adding to the Maul game universe," said Kris Vezner, Chaturanga Concepts' chief designer. "When we looked at Maul of America, we saw not just what it was -- a fun and solid game -- but what's locked away inside it. We wanted to bring out the elements of Maul that would increase its appeal, both to fans of zombie movies and to gamers generally. We think we've got a great product, with a fun metagame, and we hope that people enjoy it."
Raid on the Mall contains advanced rules and four new games for Maul of America, using the Maul components. Raid on the Mall is set in a world where the dead have risen from their graves, hungry for living flesh, and civilization is fast collapsing before their assault.
Among other things, Raid's advanced rules:
* streamline and revise the shopper, zombie and search cards;
* provide pages of new equipment for the players; and
* give optional rules for character development between games.
Using Raid, players can also play four new games with Maul. Each of these games takes about two hours to play. The new games are:
* Raid on the Mall: Raid the mall for luxury goods before fleeing to the countryside.
* Taking the Mall: Occupy and lock down a section of the mall, battling through zombie hordes.
* Battle for the Mall: Seize control of the mall from other survivors and the ravenous zombies.
* Siege of the Mall: Defend your mall against other survivors and the implacable zombie hordes outside.
Raid on the Mall will be available at many local hobby games retailers. Raid will also be available from the Jolly Roger Games website.

Maul of America is a boardgame for 2-6 players pitting never-ending hordes of zombies against shoppers trying to escape with their lives. to escape, shoppers need to collect equipment, weapons and food.
The zombies - well they want food. And what better food than shoppers caught after dark in a mall?
Can the shoppers get out in time to warn the authorities?
